Dr. Robert Hart was just awarded “Man of the Year” in his hometown. He seems to have the perfect life even though his current marriage started off with an affair. His teenage son and his best friend are staying with Dr. Hart and his wife, Elizabeth, for the summer. Dr. Hart wants to be accommodating as his son doesn’t have friends. But his son, Jonah’s friend, Nick is rubbing Dr. Hart the wrong way. Dr. Hart is convinced that Nick is trying to sleep with Elizabeth. When Dr. Hart does some questionable things to push Nick out of his life, the police end up getting involved.
Man of the Year is 291 pages long and took me four days to read.
At first I wasn’t too thrilled with this book but about halfway through it turned around. I’m giving this a 4 out of 5. Because I work in the medical field I REALLY hated Dr. Hart. It was hard for me to read his point of view. But once I accepted what a shitty dude he is, I was able to enjoy it.
Thank you, Gallery Books, for sending me this copy!
