Oh man! I had no idea what I was getting myself into with this one!
Dixie Wheeler is the lone survivor of her father’s murder-suicide which killed her mother and three older brothers. Being only 1 1/2 at the time allowed Dixie a different life. Being raised by her aunt uncle, she grew up with complicated feelings and outlooks on life. Now being an adult and on the lookout for her first home, she stumbles across the house in which her family was brutally murdered. She decides to do a walkthrough of the home and feels it pulling for her to stay. While she thinks staying at her old house will help her, she starts seeing things and people that couldn’t be real. Will Dixie remain the only Wheeler or will the house claim her life too?
Theme Music is 383 pages long and took me four days to read.
This book was much darker than I had anticipated but I’m giving it a 4 out of 5. This is not for the weak of heart or stomach for that matter! If you’re looking for a thriller that will keep you guessing, this one is for you!
Thank you, Dutton, for sending me this copy!
