The second book in the Marion Lane series leaves off in the dangerous underground world of Miss Brickett’s Investigations and Inquires. After Marion’s troublesome first year at Miss Brickett’s, she is relieved to have some downtime to focus on learning her role within the group. But the Inquirers get asked to work on “The Florist” murder who brands his victim with a rose. Marion is assigned to the case and is receiving helpful hints from a mysterious informer. She doesn’t feel she can fully trust this anonymous person but knows she must once again put herself in danger to stop the killer and to prove herself worthy of being an Inquirer.
Marion Lane and the Deadly Rose is 296 pages long and took me three days to read!
