Detective Natalie Lockhart is still mourning the loss of her younger sister after a very traumatic death and is contemplating leaving the force when a call comes in. A beloved member of the community has seemingly been murdered. Chained to the train tracks in the middle of the night while dressed in a Halloween witches costume, the Wiccan died in a very upsetting way. The more Natalie digs into the case the more she knows someone in her small town has to be responsible. Who would have wished this kind older woman harm and what will they do once Natalie comes knocking?
The Witching Tree is 324 pages long and took me five days to read.
I’m giving this book a 3.5 out of 5! This was the first I’ve read of Alice Blanchard and I will absolutely be going back and reading the first two books in this series. It’s creepy and atmospheric and I really enjoyed reading from inside Natalie’s head.
Thank you, Minotaur Books, for sending me this copy!
