The Split-Sharon Bolton

Felicity, a glaciologist, has the opportunity of a lifetime; to study glaciers on an Antartic Island. The island is remote, but not remote enough. She receives an ominous letter and fears her past has finally caught up to her. Now she must hide in the Arctic tundra until the last boat of the season leaves the island. But as much as she loves this landscape she will not let it be the last thing she sees before she dies. She will fight to survive by any means necessary.

The Split is 461 pages long and took me three days to read.

I’m giving this book a 3.5 out of 5! I really enjoyed it but I had Ms. Bolton’s last novel “The Craftsman” in my head while reading this. While I liked this book I just want readers to be aware that while it is suspenseful , it wasn’t what I was hoping it would be and maybe if I weren’t in my own head I would have given it a higher rating. Again, I really liked this book but it is different then the feeling I got from her previous book. DO NOT let that stop you from buying this one though, Sharon Bolton is truly gifted and I can’t wait to read her next!

Thank you, Minotaur Books, for sending me this copy!

Here’s to the adventure of finding a novel novel!
