The Last Time I Saw You- Liv Constantine

I’ve really been slacking on my reviews so I sincerely apologize! I thought I’d hit you with this doozy to make up for it!

Kate’s mother was brutally murdered. She’s had terrible things happen in her life but this is by far the worst. The only slight ray of positivity in this tragedy is that it has brought Kate’s estranged best friend, Blaire, back into her life. After the funeral, Kate immediately receives threatening messages around her house from what appears to be the same person who killed her mother. With Blaire by her side trying to help her keep her sanity, can Kate thwart the frightening advances from her new stalker or will she be the next victim?

The Last Time I Saw You is 305 pages long and took me one day to read.

I’ve become quite a fan of Liv Constantine’s and this story has kept me hooked! I’m giving it a 4 out of 5! I didn’t expect the ending and it hit me like a ton of bricks! Highly recommend!

Stone Mothers-Erin Kelly

Marianne loves her daughter more than anything in the world and would do anything to keep her safe. When her high school era boyfriend threatens to destroy the life she’s built by revealing Marianne’s darkest secrets, Marianne will even turn to her enemies to stop him.

Stone Mothers is 353 pages long and took me 7 days to read.

I usually give books a 3 or higher but I absolutely detested the character Jesse to the point I almost stopped reading the book. Others might really enjoy the book, I was absolutely enthralled at the beginning but by the end, it turned the whole book sour for me so I’m giving it a 2 out of 5. Again, others might really love this story but I just couldn’t get over my dislike of Jesse.

Girl Most Likely-Max Allan Collins

It’s not news to anyone that I love Thomas & Mercer books. I get so excited every time I open a new one and look forward to telling you about it.

Krista Larson is now the police chief of her hometown, Galena, IL. With her ten-year high school reunion approaching this weekend, she feels proud to have accomplished what she has at such a young age but is nervous about seeing old classmates that moved out of town after high school. When a series of murders take place over the reunion weekend, Krista feels like her old classmates could be involved. While she searches for a killer, old secrets from her high school days will come unearthed. This is Krista’s chance to show those who doubt her ability that she can close this case, even if the killer is someone she cares about.

Girl Most Likely is 287 pages long and took me three days to read.

I really enjoyed this book and am giving it a 3.5 out of 5. Having the killer’s point of view made the story even more twisty and enjoyable!

My Lovely Wife-Samantha Downing

Serial killer couple? Count me in!

Being married is hard. It’s even harder with children in the picture, but lots of couples are still able to keep the spark in their relationship alive. Most of those couples don’t resort to murdering together to do so.

My Lovely Wife is 371 pages long and took me six days to read.

This book gave me the creeps! I’m giving it a 3 out of 5. While I enjoyed the majority of the book, I was frustrated with the plot twist. Although, I did enjoy the ending and everything in between. If you’re a fan of domestic thrillers you should give this book a read!

House On Fire-Bonnie Kistler

I come from a family with step-parents and step-siblings and reading this story really made me consider how lucky I am that childhood was relatively normal. Although I can imagine from my own experiences how traumatic this story would be if it were true.

Kip is a senior in high school with his whole life ahead of him. He’s leaving for college in the fall and decides to let loose one last time before his final year ends. But when he leaves his friend’s house party, his life will never be the same again.

House On Fire is 401 pages long and took me five days to read.

I’m giving this story a 3.5 out of 5. I expected different things from this book but not in a bad way. I’ve thought about it many times since I’ve finished it and will probably end up reading it again. I would definitely recommend this book!

A Beautiful Corpse-Christi Daugherty

I completely fell in love with Harper McClain when I read ”The Echo Killing” earlier this year and was ridiculously excited to read ”A Beautiful Corpse”!

Harper has had a hard time doing her job as a crime reporter for the local paper in Savanah, GA since she exposed the lieutenant (her mentor) for the murder he committed last year. But a new murder victim, Naomi, a local bartender, and friend of Harper’s best friend, will push Harper to push the police force once again to find justice. Harper knows the likely suspect is Naomi’s boyfriend but something seems off and Naomi’s erratic before her murder has Harper questioning everyone in her life.

A Beautiful Corpse is 318 pages long and took me four days to read.

I enjoyed this follow up so much! I’m giving it a 4 out of 5! There is something about the setting of hot and sticky Georgia that makes the crime and following Harper so satisfying. I highly recommend these books to mystery fans!

The Perfect Alibi-Phillip Margolin

I’ve recently become Minotaur Books number one fan. They just keep pushing our great books that I have such a fun time reading and won’t be forgetting anytime soon!

When a girl asks Robin Lockwood to take on her lawsuit for damages against the man who was convicted of raping her, Robin takes on the case. But when the man’s DNA of the convicted rapist shows up on another rape there’s one big problem. He was in jail when the rape occurred. Robin must put together the crime to find out if she helped put an innocent man in jail and along the way stumbles into a conspiracy bigger than a lawyer could imagine.

The Perfect Alibi is 310 pages long and took me four days to read.

Gahhhhh! This book was so good! I’m giving it a 4 out of 5! I had no idea what was going to happen next but I loved every second of it! Would highly recommend to my thriller/mystery friends!
