Any Man- Amber Tamblyn

This book is upsetting and may not be suitable for all readers. That being said, I freaking loved it.

Any Man is a terrifying story of a female serial rapist. But more importantly it shows how the victims of her horrific crimes cope with being male victims in a world where sexual assault victims aren’t always believed. While this story could give you nightmares, I believe it is more of a meditation on how victims are treated and how they survive post-attack.

Any Man is 269 pages and took me one day to read.

I said it in the opening paragraph but I loved this book. I’m giving it a 4 out of 5 for the much needed point of view. This book will be staying with me for a long time.

The Real Michael Swan-Bryan Reardon

Nothing gets the heart pumping like a fast paced thriller. Especially one that involves a territorist attack.

When a bomb goes off at Penn Station, the world’s eyes are on New York City but all Julia Swann can think about finding her husband that was waiting for his train to come home. When the FBI comes to question Julia about her husband and possible links to the bombing, Julia is beside herself. She knows her husband and what he is capable of, and surely it’s not this. But how well do we really know the ones we love?

The Real Michael Swann is 340 pages long and took me two days to read.

I’m giving this story a 4.5 out of 5! I loved it so much!! It’s the perfect mix of suspense, love and heartbreak. I’m going to recommend this to everyone I know!

The Legend Of Greg- Chris Rylander

I fell in love with the cover but stayed for the story.

Greg is no ordinary 8th grader. He’s unlucky. Cursed, actually. When Greg sneaks a sip of a strange tea his fantastical father brought home from another country, it awakens something in him. He discovers, not without some bumps and bruises, that he is a dwarf! When Greg discovers the truth, his dad is not so gently carried away by some very angry trolls and Greg knows that he is the only one that can save his dad. And possibly the whole world!

The Legend of Greg is 339 pages long and took me 3 days to read.

This book is so much fun and I had a blast following Greg and his friends along. I’m giving this book a 3.5 out of 5. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this book to kids because it isn’t too scary and is super fun and has lots of puns (which I adore)! Plus, you can follow Greg on more adventures because it will be a series!

The Book of M is 496 pages long and took me 6 days to read.

I absolutely loved this story. I’m giving this book a 4.5 out of 5 because I was absolutely blown away. There are so many twists and turns and it is jam packed with suspense even when there isn’t much action happening. It is long but completely worth your time!

The Word Is Murder-Anthony Horowitz

Anthony Horowitz is one creative son of a gun!

A woman walks into a funeral home to plan her own funeral. The next day she is found murdered. Anthony Horowitz uses his incredible skill to write this “faux” non-fiction story from his point of view as though he is working with the detective on the case. Together Anthony and former detective Hawthorne are on the case!

The Word Is Murder is 387 pages long and took me four days to read.

I loved this book so much! I’m giving it a 4 out of 5. The mystery itself would be enough to keep me interested but Mr. Horowitz just has a way with words!

Highly recommend this book!
